One of the first steps in making an etching is applying a ground to protect the plate from the acid, and provide a surface to draw on. This video takes you step by step through the stages needed to apply a hardground.
Materials
Copper [or any metal] plate
Wet and dry sandpaper [400, 600, 800 grit]
Metal file
Soy sauce
Clean cotton rags
