The Greatest Commandment is Love - and it has two directions.
Jesus doesn't give a rule to memorise, He gives a way to live. Love for God and love for neighbour cannot be separated:
• Love God above everything - not just in Mass or prayer, but in trusting Him in hard times, choosing what is right over what is convenient, and giving Him the direction of your whole life.
• Act with love toward others - our love for God becomes visible in how we treat people. Through patience, kindness, forgiveness, and care for the vulnerable, like the widow, orphan and foreigner in the first reading.
• Walk in selfless love - love others as you love yourself, recognising their dignity even when they are different from you, and choosing love even when it is difficult.
As the reflection puts it: "God is not merely interested in what we know or what we accomplish. He also cares about the kind of people we become."
