Aikido JO 31 KATA SHIHO (four directions), by Stefan Stenudd in 2004

The aikido jo 31 kata is here done in four directions, shiho, instead of the usual two. This is not the basic version of the jo 31 kata, but a variation I developed for my students and myself. A long kata like this one is usually in budo done in four directions — whether it is with or without a weapon. This is a new edit of a 2004 video first posted in 2006:    • Aikido - JO 31 KATA  in four directions, s...   The quality is improved as much as I believe possible without using AI, keeping it authentic. The first part of the video is filmed through the window of an office a floor above the dojo, which is why there is no sound. We forgot to turn off the light there, so some reflections in the window are visible. The second part is filmed inside the dojo on the tatami. I've written extensively about the jo 31 kata shiho here: https://www.stenudd.com/aikido/jo31ka... And here is a video of the ten Aikibatto jo exercises against sword:    • AIKIBATTO JO, ten staff against sword exer...   My aikido dojo is Enighet in Malmö, Sweden: https://www.aikidoenighet.se/ For more about aikido, visit my website: https://www.stenudd.com/aikido/ My aikido books: https://www.amazon.com/Aikido-Princip... https://www.amazon.com/Attacks-Aikido...
