Check out cryorig_transit05's video!    • Railfanning NYP on the Northeast Corridor:...   On February 3rd, 2026, we start our day at New York Penn Station, where we typically observe trains like Amtrak and New Jersey Transit on tracks 9 and 10. We met one of our favorite travel reporters, Lonestar Trip Reports, who arrived on Acela train 2104 which you can check out his review on the Acela on his channel. About an hour later, we saw an Amtrak diesel locomotive pull into Track 9. We initially thought it was a service for the Empire Corridor, but the announcements revealed that this train was actually operating Northeast Regional train 125 all the way to Newport News under its own power. P42DC 89 was assigned to run the train under catenary due to the absence of ACS-64 locomotives at New Haven Union Station.
