You're Alone in the Desert, Under More Stars Than You've Ever Seen

The fire is small. The desert is not. Long after the caravan has stopped, you remain awake beside the dying embers, wrapped in a blanket beneath a sky that seems too large to belong to the earth. There is no city nearby. No lamp. No road. Only sand, wind, distant footsteps and the occasional movement of a sleeping camel. You have crossed deserts before. But tonight, with nothing left to do and nowhere else to be, you finally notice how quiet the world becomes after dark. The heat of the day has disappeared. The stars have taken its place. For a while, memories of home return. Then even those become distant. The horizon disappears. Time becomes difficult to measure. There is only the fire, the sand and the enormous sky above you. A slow cinematic soundtrack inspired by the musical colours of the Middle East and the sweeping atmosphere of classic desert cinema, built around oud, ney, frame drum, bowed strings and spacious orchestral textures. For studying, reading, sleeping, meditation, or simply spending an hour somewhere impossibly far from everything familiar. Tonight, the desert has no end. And neither does the sky.
