047: The Art of Hospitality: Building a Legacy of Service at Hotel Domestique - Eric Poovey

What makes a dream getaway? At Hotel Domestique, European-inspired architecture meets the Blue Ridge foothills, creating a retreat that offers a blend of both relaxation and adventure. “Domestique” is a French word that means “servant," and it has a particular significance in cycling. A domestique anticipates and eliminates obstacles to help the lead rider succeed. That same mentality guides Eric Poovey and his staff in their quest toward unparalleled hospitality. Hotel guests rarely see all the planning and problem-solving a beautiful space requires. Even with careful preparation, maintenance needs arise. When those needs emerge, who serves as a domestique for Hotel Domestique? That's where Tommy Dacus, Commercial Project Manager at Daniel Builders, excels. In this month's episode of Ready, Set, Renovate, you'll meet both Eric and Tommy and discover that hospitality isn’t reserved for the hospitality industry alone.
