From Capture to Print-Ready - Colour Grading in Lightroom, Photoshop & DxO

In this video, I take a selection of photographs from capture through to a print-ready standard, looking particularly at colour grading, colour balance and creating a natural, believable finished image. The journey begins in Olympic National Park, Washington State, where I explore seascape and woodland compositions with my friend and fellow photographer David Roth. David joins me on location and explains some of his own approach to photographing this remarkable coastline and forested park. During the video, I discuss how to get the colour balance right in-camera when making compositions. Rather than simply increasing saturation or applying a dramatic preset, I look at how the colours relate to one another across the image. This includes balancing warm and cool tones, controlling distracting colours, making use of the colour grading tools, refining contrast and deciding when an image has reached the standard I would be happy to print.
