Prakash Zone celebrated Janmashtami on 4th September in the most grand and divine manner at The Club, Andheri.
The event commenced at 9:00 pm, and the celebrations continued well past midnight, with enthusiastic devotees remaining immersed in devotion throughout.
It was truly one of the most mesmerising nights, with more than 250 Krishna bhaktas gathering to witness and celebrate the divine birth of their beloved Natkhat Kanha.
The BhaJam group, comprising our most talented Chyks, stole the show with their amazingly soulful, melodious and foot-tapping bhajans. Drenched in devotion and complete surrender, all the devotees danced for the Lord, gracefully performing garba steps with an infectious, high-octane energy. The celebrations were simply unstoppable!
This was followed by the Satsang of Pujya Swami Swatmananda ji, which is always enriching and inspiring. Swamiji gave a completely new dimension and revealed the subtle meaning behind the seemingly simple story of Lord Krishna’s birth — especially the circumstances surrounding His birth in prison, Vasudevji carrying Him to Gokul on a dark, stormy night amidst torrential rains and the flooded Yamunaji, and his return with the baby girl born to Yashodaji.
The symbolism and deeper significance of these events offer much for us to contemplate upon.
The Gita Panchamrit shlokas were also chanted, adding to the spiritual fervour of the evening.
As the clock moved closer to midnight, all the devotees became deeply absorbed in the divine atmosphere. During the sankirtan led by Swamiji and the BhaJam team, accompanied by a soothing flute recital, everyone seemed to turn inward, trying to experience the presence of the Lord within.
And then, at *exactly 12 midnight, the beautifully decorated *jhoola with little Krishna Lalla seated in it was unveiled by Swamiji.
What followed was a delightful surprise for everyone — the Lord Himself had arrived in physical form!
Ansh, a Balavihar child, beautifully dressed as Krishna, appeared on stage, bringing immense joy and delight to everyone present.
Krishna Janam was followed by Pooja, chanting of the 108 names of the Lord, and Aarti.
The evening concluded with all the devotees offering flowers to the Lord and receiving makkhan mishri prasad, amidst an incredibly divine ambience created by soft and soulful bhajans.
The venue was beautifully adorned with fresh white and yellow flowers, creating an eye-catching and serene atmosphere. The *food was wide spread and delicious, and all the other arrangements — including **sound, lighting and photography — were excellent.
We are extremely grateful to Shri Bharat Khanna
for being so generous and for providing the beautiful venue along with all the facilities.
With the grace of the Lord and Pujya Gurudev, the Janmashtami Utsav was truly a **divine and unforgettable celebration.
