What does it really mean to surrender in Integral Yoga? Surrender is often understood as letting go and allowing the Divine to take over. But what happens when surrender becomes an excuse for passivity, avoidance, or giving up our own effort? In this session, Divyanshi explores the meaning of surrender in action, beginning with one of the common pitfalls on the spiritual path: tamasic surrender — a passive surrender that avoids effort and responsibility. Drawing on the teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, she explores how surrender develops through aspiration, rejection and surrender, and why genuine surrender requires tapasya, sincerity and conscious effort. The session also looks at how to recognise the opposition forces that appear in everyday life, the importance of discernment when deciding what and whom we are surrendering to, and the subtle difference between the psychic will and the vital will. Ultimately, surrender is presented not as weakness or passivity, but as a living, joyful and conscious self-giving — an intimate movement between human aspiration and Divine Grace. 🎁 A special gift If these questions speak to you, we invite you to explore them more deeply through the Awakening Karmayogi Workshop — a live transformative workshop designed to help seekers understand the process of awakening and take their first step toward living a life of purpose and a spirituality that embraces all of life.
