Left 4 Dead 2 - Detour Ahead PLEASE READ: This L4D2 Nightmare mod gameplay was done in a custom mutation that combined 'Last Man on Earth' (solo, no horde) and 'Hard Eight' (more enemies). Aesthetics and scripts were mostly from yoru's 'Nightmare' pack — see some of the changes below: Limited HUD, ammo, and weapons. No glow (not even on proximity). Altered damage and gun recoil. Door barging with shoves. Immersive fall (staggers/stuns). Weapon weight and fewer item spawns. Tank spawns anywhere and has 80k HP. Witch is angered by flashlight. Witch has wider disturbance range. SI secondary attack staggers the player. Strategic enemy AI. No horde, no Boomer, no pipe and bile bombs. If caught, player's health is drained to critical before being released. HARD EIGHT Another official mode in L4D2 that increases the maximum Special Infected count from four to eight at a time. Enemies also spawn faster, increasing the chances of being swarmed.
