We park up in Grasmere and hike in through lashing rain past some absolutely powerful waterfalls. The conditions were brutal from the start. Route: • Grasmere start point • Easedale Tarn (heavily misted) • Belles Knot • Codale Tarn camp spot • Tarn Crags summit push in storm conditions By the time we pitched at Codale Tarn, the wind was building and the rain wasn’t easing up. 🌧 What Happens • Full wet-weather hike in • Camp setup in heavy rain • Quick summit push to Tarn Crags in storm-force wind • Retreat to tents as the weather properly kicks off • Venison burgers cooked up • Brew on • Plenty of laughs • Yellow storm warning all night I eventually fall asleep to the sound of my tent being absolutely hammered by wind and rain.
