How Is This “Dark Souls Clone” So Good?

I went into Lies of P expecting another Soulslike inspired by the games I already loved. Instead, I found one of the most memorable games I've played. This video is about what changed my mind. The world of Krat, Romeo, Sophia, Lea, Geppetto, and the story of a puppet slowly learning what it means to become human. Lies of P wears its influences proudly, but somewhere along the way, it earned an identity of its own. SPOILERS for Lies of P and Overture.
