Guru Stotram is a sacred hymn honouring the Guru, not only as a human teacher, but as the principle of wisdom that removes ignorance and reveals the truth of the Self. Its verses identify the Guru with Brahmā, Viṣṇu and Maheśvara, and ultimately with Parabrahman, the absolute reality beyond all forms.
