Sweet Johnson never changes. Not once, not for a second, across the entire runtime of GTA: San Andreas. That's the whole problem, and this video breaks down exactly why the older Johnson brother might be the most quietly tragic case of arrested development in the whole franchise.
We go back to the cemetery scene that nobody talks about enough, the moment Sweet turns his own mother's funeral into a blame session against CJ for a death CJ had nothing to do with. We audit the five years Sweet ran Grove Street solo, and how a once-feared gang got reduced to a handful of blocks on his watch, not CJ's. We talk about the two traitors hiding inside his own crew that he never once suspected, including a certain drug kingpin who was standing right next to him the entire time. We look at the one moment Sweet almost broke his own rules, what that says about how easily he can actually be manipulated, and the almost unbelievable way he treats CJ after CJ personally springs him from prison. Then we flip the whole argument on its head and ask whether Sweet is really just stupid, or if he's the only member of the Johnson family who never got an exit ramp out of the neighborhood.
This is a deep dive into one of the most underrated character studies in Rockstar's entire catalog, told through the lens of loyalty, stagnation, and what happens when a person's entire identity gets welded to four blocks of Los Santos. If you've ever replayed San Andreas and found yourself getting annoyed at Sweet's decision making, this one's for you.

Let me know in the comments what you think the strongest counterargument for Sweet actually is, genuinely want to see this discussed. And if this is your kind of content, GTA lore, character breakdowns, the stuff that actually digs into the writing instead of just replaying missions, subscribe so you don't miss the next one.
