I reviewed in the past the MC Three Nuns 50g tin that I enjoy on a regular basis when I read @bobp7964 comment that he found the ready rubbed 40g pouch available in the UK is literally a different blend, much sweeter & milder (almost a aromatic sweetness) so different from 50g tin which is coin cut. I was intrigued and bought a pouch so let’s find out. Pouch blend info The tobacco leaf is spun as a rope, with dark fired Kentucky at its heart and Virginia surrounding it. This rope has leaf from no less than four continents twisted into it giving it strength, sweetness and smoky character. Then it is cut into coins and rubbed out for your convenience. Deep and rich smokiness alongside sweet wholesome tobacco flavours take the stage, earthiness is evident, as is hay and some citrus fruit. Three Nuns has had a strong following for many years and for many, it is a nostalgic smoke. Contents - Kentucky, Virginia Flavouring - None Detected Cut - Ready Rubbed 50g Tin description The Three Nuns coin tobacco was originally a creation of J & F Bell, dating back to the 19th century. A favorite of British authors (and friends) C.S. Lewis & J.R.R. Tolkien. In the formula from Imperial Tobacco, Three Nuns was a VaPer mixture. Pipe Tobacco Hall of Fame Inductee. Later this tobacco was made at the Orlik factory for BAT and Kentucky was substituted for Perique. The latest version, blended and manufactured by Mac Baren, follows the latter form.
