#WaylonJennings #OutlawCountry #hankwilliams On August 23, 1977, Federal Drug Agents walked into a Nashville recording studio while Waylon Jennings was recording with Hank Williams Jr. The agents had followed a package of cocaine from New York to Nashville. But when they finally got inside American Sound Studios, the evidence they were looking for was gone. What followed was Waylon Jennings’ arrest, a disputed search warrant, a federal case, and ultimately one of his most revealing songs: “Don’t You Think This Outlaw Bit’s Done Got Out of Hand.” This documentary follows the documented story behind the 1977 raid from the package that brought federal agents to Nashville, to the recording session, the missing evidence, the arrest, the court case, and the song Waylon eventually wrote about it. By 1977, Jennings was already one of country music’s biggest stars and one of the defining figures of Outlaw Country. But this wasn't a story happening on a concert stage. It happened in the studio, while the tape was rolling. If you love the real stories behind classic country music, subscribe to Country Music Vault. Every song has a story. Every legend has a history.
