This is a good place to stop. 🍵 Morning on a hillside tea farm. The rows curve away down the slope, trimmed round and even, and the mist has not lifted out of the hollow yet. A wandering ronin has set his basket and his sword down on the boards of a small tea hut, and there is steam coming off the cup beside him. He has not decided anything. This piece is inspired by "IPPUKU" (一服) — one cup of tea. Also: a short rest. Japanese uses the same word for both. You do not "take a break and also have tea." You take one ippuku, and the tea is what the rest is made of. The cup is not a reward for stopping. The cup is the stopping. Which means a break needs no other justification. Not "I've earned it." Not "just five minutes and then back to it." Just: there is tea, and you are sitting down. You have been treating every pause as a negotiation with yourself. You do not have to reach the next place today. The road will still be there when the cup is cold. Nobody in the valley is expecting you yet. Shakuhachi breathes long and low, the way steam comes off something warm. Koto sets down single notes, unhurried, like sips. Nothing here is asking you to get going. This music is suitable for 🍵 Breaks you feel guilty about taking ✍️ Quiet work, reading, unhurried thinking 🧠 Deep focus without pressure 😴 Sleep and rest Let it play and stay until the cup is empty. This really is a good place to stop. If this brought you some quiet, consider subscribing. New Japanese Zen music every day. 🙏 💿️Tracklist 00:00:00 1. Setting the Basket Down 00:03:18 2.
