Practise Daily English Conversations in 10 real situations: at home, on the bus, at work, in a shop, on the phone and with friends. A 40-minute listen-and-repeat lesson for A2-B1 learners.
Practise with Tom: no grammar lectures, just short, natural conversations and speaking practice you can use today.
Do you understand English, but freeze when you have to speak? This video is made for that moment. You follow one ordinary day, from the morning alarm to the next morning, and you practise the exact phrases people really say in daily life. Short answers. Polite requests. Small talk. Real English, at a calm speed.
WHO THIS VIDEO IS FOR
• English learners at A2-B1 level (also useful for confident beginners and early B2)
• Anyone who wants more speaking practice at home
• Anyone who understands more than they can say
• Learners who prefer natural, everyday English to textbook English
WHAT YOU WILL PRACTISE
Ten everyday situations, each with a short conversation, the key phrases, and speaking practice:
• Morning talk with a flatmate: how to give short, natural answers like "Not really."
• Breakfast and weather: offering food, saying no politely, and talking about the sky
• On the bus: asking for a seat, asking about stops, and a short listening test
• At the coffee machine: small talk and the "bounce" (answer, then ask back)
• At work: asking a colleague for help without sounding rude
• In a sandwich shop: ordering food, with a fast speed round
• On the phone: making an appointment, spelling your name, asking someone to speak slower
• In the supermarket: finding things, asking about prices, shopping phrases
• Making plans with a friend: saying no kindly and suggesting another day
• At home in the evening: telling someone about your day, and saying goodnight
HOW TO USE THIS LESSON
1. Listen to each short conversation first.
2. When you hear "Repeat", say the phrase out loud after Tom, with the same rhythm.
3. When you hear "Your turn", answer for yourself. Pause the video if you need more time.
4. Come back tomorrow and practise again. The second time is always easier.
Speaking out loud matters. Your ears can understand a phrase before your mouth can say it, and practice with your mouth is how that changes. A little practice every day works better than one long session once a month.
THE PHRASES YOU WILL LEARN INCLUDE
"Not really." · "Is this seat taken?" · "Not bad. You?" · "Do you have a minute?" · "Could you say that again?" · "Can I pay by card?" · "Could you spell that for me?" · "Where can I find the rice?" · "I'd love to, but I can't." · "How was your day?"
WHY DAILY CONVERSATION PRACTICE WORKS
Most learners study words and grammar, but real life asks for short answers, polite questions and quick reactions. This lesson trains exactly that: the small phrases you will use again and again, at home, at work, when you travel, and with new friends.
