Blake Island is a small island and Washington State Park in Puget Sound. Its located 8 miles from downtown Seattle across Elliot Bay, between the south end of Bainbridge Island and the north end of Vashon Island. The island is only accessible by boat. It became a marine state park in 1959. Legend has it that Chief Sealth (Seattle) was born on the island, his tribe the Suquamish used the island as a camping ground.
