I Rode the Other Way is dedicated to my baby sister, Tammy. ❤️ Last year, when motorcycles from everywhere were heading north toward Sturgis, I made a different choice. I pointed my bike the other direction. I was carrying the loss of my baby sister and a kind of grief I didn't really know what to do with. I wasn't looking for answers. I wasn't trying to forget her. I just knew something inside me was telling me that I needed a different road. That road eventually took me to Bryce Canyon. Standing there looking across those incredible red-rock formations, surrounded by a silence bigger than anything I could explain, something changed inside me. The grief didn't disappear. But I started carrying it differently. I realized healing isn't forgetting someone you love. Maybe it's learning that the love remains even after they're gone. And somewhere along that journey, I stopped asking why I had to lose my baby sister... and started being grateful that I ever got to have her. Everybody else could have Sturgis. I needed Bryce that day. Some rides take you somewhere. Some rides bring you home.
