The Only Man in Chicago Al Capone Was AFRAID Of - Black Devil

Al Capone ran Prohibition-era Chicago with an iron grip. But on the South Side, there was a Black underworld figure — remembered by some as the "Black Devil" — whom even Capone's Outfit chose not to cross. This documentary tells his story: the rise of the Black Belt's gambling, policy and nightlife rackets in 1920s Chicago, how he built his power, his dealings and standoffs with Capone's organization, and how his era came to an end as the Outfit tightened its hold on the city. Using newspaper archives, historical records and accounts from the period, we look at a forgotten chapter of Chicago's gangland history.
