SWRC Lunch & Learn: A cross-country comparison of family support among LGB youth

Family support is a strong and consistent correlate of psychosocial adjustment among lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth. Studies to date have reported results based on samples at the state, provincial, or national level. As such, comparisons between youth of varying sexual orientations at the international level on family support have yet to be assessed. This paper asks whether sexual orientation predicts family support in an internationally representative sample of adolescents, comparing minority and majority sexual orientation youth.
