Can A Christian and a Hebrew Israelite Agree?

Are Black Americans the real Israelites? And what does that mean for Christianity, identity, and salvation? In this episode of The Deep End, Lecrae sits down with Hebrew Israelite artist Zadok and pastor and author Jerome Gay Jr. to explore the Hebrew Israelite movement, the whitewashing of Christianity, and the search for identity within the Black community. Zadok explains why many Black Americans identify with the biblical Israelites, while Jerome challenges certain interpretations of Scripture and addresses how Christianity has been misrepresented throughout history. Together, they examine questions about ancestry, the twelve tribes of Israel, Deuteronomy 28, and whether ethnicity determines who belongs to God's chosen people. Ultimately, the conversation raises a deeper question: Is our identity rooted in our ancestry or in our relationship with God? -- 00:00 Introduction 05:46 What Is a Hebrew Israelite? 14:43 The Different Groups Within the Hebrew Israelite Movement 21:56 The Whitewashing of Christianity 30:42 Are Black Americans the Biblical Israelites? 42:26 Finding Yourself in Scripture 46:15 Why Zadok Identifies as a Hebrew Israelite 58:48 Where Hebrew Israelite Beliefs and Christianity Differ 1:14:15 Can White People Be Saved? 1:19:00 The Problem with the Twelve Tribes Chart 1:27:22 Race, Faith, and Loving Your Neighbor 1:38:35 What Does Scripture Say About Israel? 1:49:19 Why Some Black Americans Turn to African Spirituality 1:58:19 Final Reflections --- Take care of your body with AG1 Next Gen.
