Pseudogroups and geometric structures --- María Amelia Salazar (Universidad EAFIT)

Geometric structures are often best understood through their pseudogroups of symmetries. In this talk I will illustrate how Lie groupoids, together with some of their multiplicative structures, arise naturally in this setting, and how groupoid theory provides a powerful framework to study geometric structures from the point of view of PDEs. The discussion will be guided by examples. This is based on a book that I am currently writing with Luca Accornero, Francesco Cattafi and Marius Crainic.
