Bijagos Archipelago, Guinea Bissau (English version)

The Bijagos Archipelago is one of MAVA's iconic sites. With its 88 islands, it is probably the richest part in Guinea Bissau in terms of biodiversity. Safeguarding the Bijagos islands is key, not only for maintaining the balance of coastal ecosystems in West Africa but also for the human populations who live there.
