Searching for Spain's Forgotten Souls - Sanatorio de Sierra Espuña - Ghost Hunt Deep in the pine forests of Murcia, Spain, lies one of the country’s most notorious and heavily quarantined ruins: the abandoned Sanatorio de Sierra Espuña. Originally constructed in the early 20th century to isolate severe tuberculosis patients from the world—and later repurposed as an orphanage (Escuela Hogar), thousands passed through these doors, and countless never returned.
