The size of the park is 26,485 hectares. Mokala National Park is South Africa’s youngest national park, a quiet sanctuary of red sands, koppies, and iconic camelthorn trees southwest of Kimberley. Named after the Setswana word for camelthorn, it protects rare and endangered species like sable and roan antelope and black rhino, making conservation its heartbeat. With serene roads, intimate camps, and big skies, Mokala offers a crowd-free, soulful alternative to busier parks—perfect for slow game drives, birding, and photography.
