🔗 Fix every weak spot a burglar checks first with my complete home security guide: royashworth.com
A burglar walking down a British street after dark isn't looking for the house with the most expensive alarm. He's looking for the one that seems quiet, easy and unlikely to cause him any trouble.
Ex-SAS training is built on one simple idea: make yourself a hard target. In this video I take that idea and apply it to an ordinary UK home, using 13 cheap items you can find at Poundland.
Here's a taste of what's inside:
• A rubber item most people only use to prop a door open, and the one door you should never use it on
• What to keep beside your bed tonight, and what NOT to do with it if you hear a noise downstairs
• A cheap way to stop strangers browsing your living room from the pavement
• A small alarm that's perfect behind a door, and the one place it should never go
• The "security hack" from the internet you should ignore completely
• What to check before you open the door to someone claiming to be from a company
• The simplest item on the list, which I'd argue is one of the most useful of all
And the one thing I'd do before bed tonight costs nothing at all and takes about a minute.
A quick honest note: Poundland stock changes, not every item costs exactly a pound, and not every branch carries everything. None of these items replace good locks on your doors and windows. They work alongside them.
This isn't about making anyone frightened in their own home. A burglary is not inevitable,. It's simply about making your home a little harder to read, and a little harder to enter, than the one next door.
If you live alone, or you have a parent or neighbour who does, please pass this on.
If you ever believe someone is trying to get into your home, don't confront them. Get to a safe room, lock the door and call 999.
Which of these 13 do you already have at home? And which one would you add? Tell me in the comments.
