It's late, and you're lying awake going over something someone did or said. An old email, a remark at dinner, a note from next door. You've drafted the reply four times. This talk keeps you company through that night.
How to listen: keep the volume a little low. If you fall asleep partway through, that's fine; let it play. If you wake in the night, you can start again from anywhere.
There's a very old teaching that lists the things an enemy would wish on an enemy, and that come to a person overcome by anger. Sleeping badly is on that list: an enemy doesn't like to have an enemy who sleeps at ease. This talk does not say your anger is wrong, or that the other person was right, or that you have to forgive. What happened can stay as true as it is. The sleepless night is a separate thing, and tonight you don't have to hand it over.
The early texts give the list as teaching to monks about anger; they do not say any real person wishes you harm. Applying it to tonight's sleepless night is the narrator's reading. The everyday examples are fictional.
This is an original talk for reflection and rest. It is not a treatment and does not promise sleep. It is not legal, workplace or medical advice. If anger or poor sleep stays with you for weeks, please talk to a doctor. Narrated with an AI-generated voice.
