Tim's Third Stellation of the Rhombic Dodecahedron

Welcome to the Corona Virus Chronicles... Tim is now self-isolating, and presenting his videos directly from his apartment, via a web link. Tim starts by showing again a couple of the Hypercards from yesterday. A couple of people commented that they could not see them in quite enough detail. Hopefully they are clearer now. Tim then moves on to three examples of intersecting cards. The first one involves three business cards, or maybe playing cards, each of which needs to have the same cut made in it. The cut needs to have a certain width to it, basically the width should be the thickness of the card, which allows a second card to slide in without bending or distorting the first one. Tim then takes three extra large playing cards that have been pre-cut, and he fits them together. The second demonstration is a box with a hinged lid, all made from playing cards. Tim shows that some of the cards have simply been folded in half, and some of the cards have both ends folded over. There are no cuts. Finally Tim shows a design by George Hart (http://georgehart.com/ ). It is a star shaped sculpture, that uses twelve playing cards. It was given out at a Gathering for Gardner some years ago. Each card has two larger cuts and two smaller cuts, and each card is cut in an identical way. The sculpture is also called a Third Stellation of the Rhombic Dodecahedron!
