Before hitting record for this one, I climbed up into the quiet backstreets and high hills of Ohrid’s Old Town, swapping the lakeside crowds for narrow stone roads, ancient cobblestones and steep residential alleys that felt a world away from the main strip. It’s a maze of weathered Ottoman-style houses, overgrown gardens and sudden openings between the homes that look right out over the lake.
