Hatfield Place Wedding Video | Lauren and Billy Shot on location at Hatfield Place, Essex - August 2026 Lauren and Billy’s Hatfield Place wedding took place on a beautiful August day, with warm sunshine and the grounds looking their brilliant best. As one of Hatfield Place's preferred suppliers, I'm lucky enough to film here regularly, and summer days like this are a reminder of just how wonderful this venue is. Lauren and Billy were great fun to spend the day with, and their hospitality was second to none. From the moment I arrived I was made to feel incredibly welcome. Lauren may also be one of the most organised brides I've ever met. Folders, printouts, plans for the plans, the lot. The impressive thing was that once the day actually arrived, all that preparation meant she could forget about it. She was ready early, completely relaxed and able to enjoy every second of the day. Billy, meanwhile, successfully arrived at the correct venue on time, which apparently isn't always a given. He then raised the entertainment levels by dropping the rings during the ceremony. A strong start. Their story together began long before either of them was thinking about weddings. They first knew each other back in sixth form in 2013. Billy attended an all boys school which accepted girls into the sixth form, and Lauren was one of those who joined. Despite knowing of each other, they didn't actually speak. Fast forward a few years and both ended up studying at St Mary's University in Twickenham. After spotting each other on a station platform and exchanging a nod, Billy eventually slid into Lauren's Twitter DMs. They arranged to meet after university one day and, in what Lauren now describes as true Billy style, he was very late. He did, however, arrive bearing a present. The free Metro newspaper. Romance was alive and well. Years later, when it came to choosing somewhere to get married, Lauren already had a pretty good idea where she wanted to go. Hatfield Place had been sitting in her Instagram wedding folders for years. They only visited two venues before making their decision. "It was a dream of mine to get married here. I had it saved in a wedding album on Instagram for years. We only looked at two venues and we were sold as soon as we saw it." A special mention has to go to Lauren's cousin who, at just 13 years old, had written his own poem for Lauren and Billy and stood up to deliver it during the ceremony. It was a brilliant moment and exactly the sort of thing that makes every wedding completely individual. It was also particularly lovely to film this wedding because Lauren had been following my work for years before her own day finally came around. "I have followed you for a very long time and like the relaxed style of your videos. I like when you put speeches over videos like it is telling a story." That storytelling is a huge part of how I approach a wedding film. The speeches, vows and little pieces of audio from the day aren't simply things to document. They help tell the story of who these people are, the people around them, and how they ended up here. And with Lauren and Billy, there was plenty of story to work with. From barely speaking at sixth form, to Twitter DMs, a free Metro newspaper and, eventually, a beautiful summer Hatfield Place wedding. Lauren and Billy, thank you for trusting me to capture it. It was a brilliant day, with wonderful people, and thank you again for looking after me so well. I hope you, your friends and your family love the film.
