Join me on a memorable journey through Alsace, France, beginning in Strasbourg and continuing through the charming town of Obernai to the spectacular Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. 🏛️ Exploring Strasbourg My visit began in Strasbourg, where I explored the European Parliament and experienced the unique atmosphere of this historic city. Strasbourg blends French and German influences, with beautiful architecture, lively streets, and a rich cultural heritage. 🚗 A Drive to Obernai From Strasbourg, I drove to Obernai, a charming Alsatian town at the foot of Mont Sainte-Odile. Obernai is busier than the villages farther south, yet it feels more intimate than Strasbourg. It also remains a genuine market town, filled with colorful streets, traditional buildings, local shops, and a welcoming atmosphere. 🏰 Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg: A Castle with a Commanding View My final stop was the impressive Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg. This is where the journey trades picturesque streets for stone battlements. Perched approximately 757 meters above the Alsatian plain, the castle is one of the most completely restored mountain fortresses in the Upper Rhine. With its towers, walls, courtyards, and commanding views across the surrounding landscape, Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg offers a fascinating glimpse into the region’s medieval past.
