Most people believe they are choosing their own lives.
But long before we learn to question ourselves, we inherit definitions of success, morality, ambition and respectability. We follow paths prepared by family, society and the crowd—then mistake obedience for identity.
Friedrich Nietzsche believed that becoming yourself was not a matter of discovering a personality hidden within you. It required something far more difficult: questioning the values that formed you, enduring the loneliness of independent thought and creating a life you could genuinely call your own.
This film explores herd morality, inherited identity, self-overcoming and the price of becoming an individual.
You may not have chosen the person you are today.
But you are responsible for the person you become next.
