An Elephant Walked Into Our Campsite! | Makongo Hills

My first camping trip in an unfenced Big Five game reserve definitely didn’t go quite as expected. We headed to Inkululeko Bush Camp at Makongo Hills in northern KwaZulu-Natal for a weekend of camping, 4x4s, game drives and the outdoors. The campsite is completely off-grid and unfenced, which became very apparent when an elephant decided to pay us a visit… more than once. This is the first adventure on Take the Dirt Road.
