Korkeakoski. half-barrier device Juupajoki

Filmed in 13.6.2026. This video includes the document of a level crossing known as Korkeakoski. It's been located at Korkeakoski traffic place along Tampere-Haapamäki railway and it's crossed by connecting road 3413. This level crossing has been equipped with a half-barrier device, which was installed here probably somewhere in the late-1970's. The warning device has two three-light light-signals made by Fiskars and one two-light light-signal and a pair of cast-iron bells made by Ericsson. What comes to safety this level crossing is quite dangerous because not only it crosses a total of three rails but the road has quite a steep bend right next to it on the other side. Along the main rail line the level crossing is crossed by an industrial rail which leads to Versowood sawmill. Both rail and road traffic are mostly moderate at this level crossing, with first consisting of about 6-8 daily passenger trains and about 2-4 daily freight trains. While I'm documenting this level crossing you can see things like an old Korkeakoski station building and Koskitie road crossing in the background.
