Dr Shaista Ahmad is a Kashmiri singer and academic with her post-graduation and PhD in Kashmiri language and literature. She is a resident of Srinagar. Currently posted as the Coordinator of Abdul Ahad Azad Chair in the Srinagar Cluster University, she is a Professor of Kashmiri language and literature in the Higher Education Department of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. She is also a music composer and poet, planning to publish her collection shortly. With her Master of Philosophy on Habba Khatoon, she is already author of a book on Kashmir’s iconic female poet and queen of the 16th century CE. Unlike most of her tribe of artists, singing is simply her passion and she does not make it her commercial domain. She is the guest this week in Episode-82 of "Kashmir Podcast With Ahmed Ali Fayyaz" on TALKISTAN. #talkistan #ahmedalifayyaz #kashmirpodcast #kashmirbureaucracy #kashmiroralhistory #kashmirpoliticalhistory #kashmirarchives #kashmirisongs #kashmirimusic #kashmiripoetry #ShaistaAhmad #ShaistaSinger --------------------- TALKISTAN brings you a new Kashmir-focused podcast every week.
