The webinar provides a summary of a research project/case study related to the analysis of contiguous piled retaining walls using limit equilibrium method and finite element method 2D & 3D. The selected geometry, construction sequence and soil conditions are based on a 4.0m deep excavation required for a rainwater attenuation tank at Birmingham New Street Station Redevelopment Project. The tank is formed of contiguous piled retaining walls which act as cantilevered during the excavation works required to construct the base and roof reinforced concrete slabs.
