Did we blow our budget in the storm? Weekly budgeting reset with me October week 2 #cashstuffing

It’s time for my weekly budget reset! I use my credit card for many of our weekly expenses, but I still budget those purchases using my cash envelope system. This week October11 2026...I’m going through our expenses, unstuffing the corresponding cash envelopes, and using that money to pay back the credit card. I’m also cash stuffing our variable spending for the upcoming week and trying to leave a little extra as a buffer/rollover. One thing I was especially thankful for this week was my buffer envelope since I overspent in one area. I recently added money to that envelope from completed savings challenges, and when a medical expense came up, the money was already there to cover it. This is exactly why I’m becoming more intentional about where my savings challenge money goes. My goal with this system is to keep the card spending backed by money already in our budget—not treat the available credit as additional spending money.
