Probably PVC or something Videos mentioned: Which Power is The Best?    • What's The Best Power in InFAMOUS?   Paper Trail Restrospective:    • The Forgotten InFAMOUS DLC   Get 20% when buying G Fuel: https://www.gfuel.com/THATBOYAQUA My main channel @ThatBoyAqua Happy Monday everyone. Today I want to revisit an older video of mine where I ranked the powers in the inFAMOUS series. In that video, there were a few people who wanted to see a ranking of the powers not based on mechanical depth in the gameplay sense, but in the power sense. With that in mind; today we are going to be discussing the different conduits in the InFAMOUS series and determining who is the strongest, but before we get ahead of ourselves, we need to lay down some ground rules. The first is that Protagonists and the Beast are disqualified. The Beast is disqualified because John White is so obviously the strongest conduit there is, transcending the term and becoming more of a force of nature. He isn’t even defeated by Cole per say, and instead can only be defeated in a cataclysmic event that kills every conduit. In any video like this, The Beast is the obvious answer, and would make the video a bit boring. Now the reason the protagonists are disqualified is for a simple reason, which is that they never lose. By virtue of being protagonists, they will always appear to be the strongest, and again, it just kind of makes the topic boring. So with that said; let’s look at the conduits throughout the series and figure out which one is the strongest, starting with a character that completely flies in the face of my ruleset. Kessler should technically be disqualified, because spoilers, he is basically Cole. However, without getting into the philosophical weeds, I want to talk about Kessler because he is essentially a different character. While electricity is still what he conducts, the ways that power manifests is entirely different from Cole, and since I don’t consider him to be the strongest anyways, his inclusion doesn’t make much of a difference. Kessler's standout powers are mental projections, teleportation, and of course, time travel. What separates Kessler from the other conduits however, is that it appears his powers have been amplified by repeated exposure to the Ray Sphere. In the comic series that discussed the events both before and after the first InFAMOUS, we can see that Kessler is aware that repeated exposure to ray field energy can allow a conduit to essentially apply steroids to their powers. This is actually the lore reason for why The Beast can amplify Cole's powers, Cole is being temporarily powered up by the ray field energy that the Beast naturally produces. I believe this is why Kessler has abilities that honestly transcend simply being able to conduct electricity, and why his electric powers seem to be a more pure white instead of red or blue. Unfortunately though, I think the version of Kessler we see in the game doesn’t have much in terms of offence, as his strongest power, teleportation, seems to be a more defensive move, and it seems his power is capped due to his prosthetic arm. Based on the cutscene showcasing his one way trip through time, we can assume that, based on his arm now needing a prosthetic, the one way trip left his body permanently injured. I believe this is why Kessler has to rest so often after using his abilities in our fight against him. Granted this could also be due to the fact that the devs had to make the boss fight beatable, but I think this is supported by the fact Kessler is so evasive throughout the game. He spends most of our time in Empire City off to the side, and he likely is only training Cole in the first place because he knows that he himself isn't strong enough to stop the beast. I think while Kessler is undoubtedly strong, when it comes to his strength in combat and in terms of global domination, his powers are sadly beat out by some of the others, and one of the conduits that I believe could defeat Kessler would shockingly be Sasha.
