Everyone intuitively understands what temperature roughly represents: whether something feels warm or cold. But defining temperature as a consistent property of everything in nature is a little trickier. For this, we need an understanding of thermal equilibrium, and the zeroth law of thermodynamics. That is the topic of this video. We also discuss how we decide what numbers to use for various temperatures, where there are a few options: Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin.
