Remember the house every kid on the block wanted to visit? Fifteen everyday clues that told you a family had money in the 1980s, from the first VCR to a phone inside the car.
This video counts down fifteen things American kids noticed in the eighties: the country club, the pony on the shirt, the big projection TV, the Mercedes, the CD player, the HBO box, the satellite dish, a flight to Disney World, and the backyard pool. It also looks at the squeeze behind them, with mortgage rates near eighteen and a half percent and a minimum wage that sat still for the whole decade.
Whose house was the one everybody wanted to go to on your street, and what did that house have? Tell me in the comments.
