Hypersonics [Aerodynamics #20]

In this video, we cover Hypersonic flow, a new regime of high-speed aerodynamics that literally breaks our fluids/thermo analysis. We go so fast that the gas is impacted on a molecular, and even atomic level. This results physically in very thin, aggressive shock layers; thick boundary layers; entropy layers; and low density effects that lead to lack of a continuous gas assumption. It is an extremely challenging and exciting area of aerodynamics and leads to a lot of cool and unique designs.
