Welcome back to Derail Valley ASMR! 🚂🎧 Episode 9 is a nice change of pace: no disasters, no missing locomotives, no accidental rearrangement of parked wagons — just one big, relaxing freight haul across Derail Valley. We begin at Machine Factory & Town, where it's time for our usual first task of the day: surveying the available Work Orders. And one job quickly catches our attention... 🚧 Mining Trucks, Excavators & Tower Crane Parts 🚃 5 wagons ⚖️ 212 tons 💰 $28,225 Work Order 🗺️ Machine Factory & Town → Iron Ore Mine East A heavy load and a journey almost all the way across the map to the northeastern corner of Derail Valley? Sounds perfect! Better yet, our cut is already waiting in the same yard as our train — just one track over. For once, everything is convenient! 😄 After some straightforward shunting, our five wagons are connected, the train is prepared, and we're ready to begin the long journey toward Iron Ore Mine East. 🚂 212 Tons Across Derail Valley And today? Everything just works. We settle in for a calm journey through the mountains, valleys and fjords of Derail Valley, carrying our 212-ton load of heavy machinery across the map. Our route takes us through Iron Ore Mine West, onward past Food Factory & Town, and eventually deeper into the mountains toward our final destination. No derailments. No accidents. No questionable decisions. Just our train, the rails, and nearly an hour of relaxing railway travel. 🎧 Eventually, we arrive safely at Iron Ore Mine East, where one final bit of shunting brings our five-wagon cut into C Yard, track C4I. Work Order complete! And that long journey pays rather nicely... 💰 $42,338 earned! Naturally, having money means only one thing: Time to spend it again. 😂 📜 New Licenses! With our successful delivery behind us, we invest some of our earnings into two new licenses that should considerably expand what we can do in future episodes. 🚃 Train Length 1 We're no longer limited to our smaller consists and can now accept hauling jobs with up to 10 wagons. That should open the door to some considerably bigger trains! 🔧 Manual Service This one should make things particularly interesting. We can now start performing some locomotive servicing ourselves instead of simply throwing money at the service terminal and letting insurance deal with everything. More work for me, more content for you, and hopefully fewer insurance fees! 😄 Before calling it a day, we take our first look at how the Manual Service facilities work and finish Episode 9 with a healthy: 💰 $66,151 in the pocket Not bad at all! And with longer trains now available to us, one particular license is already looking rather tempting for next time...
