Michigan Coast to Coast 2026 | Racing smarter (and a bit harder)

I had so much fun at the Michigan Coast to Coast in 2025 that I came back for more in 2026. In 2025, my goal was simple: beat the sun. I finished the 204-mile course in 14:35, about an hour before sunset. Coming back in 2026, I figured I could knock off at least 30 minutes — I knew the course better, and I'd put in the work training for my Unbound XL attempt. I ended up beating that goal by a mile: 1 hour and 27 minutes faster, finishing in 13:08. In this video, I break down exactly where that time came from — checkpoint by checkpoint — using my power, heart rate, and speed data from both years, plus the official race results. Turns out that I raced smarter rather than harder. Or said differently, racing harder at the right times with the right people made a big difference.
