Vlog 44: First Truck Tow Flight of 2025! Some changes were felt…

This youtube channel is my log book at this point. My last flight was three months ago at Lookout Mountain, vlog 39-43. My last truck tow was in October 2024 so 8 month ago. I was pleasantly surprised by my calmness getting ready to truck tow. I’ve always been very very nervous and anxious before flying. I had many times I didn’t sleep right the night before because of my excitement and nervousness. This was a very first time I went out to the park without any of that. I even got worried if I’d screw up something because I’m not nervous… I was extra extra careful setting up my glider and preflighting because I was feeling almost too relaxed. My healthy dose of butterflies did kick in during going through the checklist on the truck. I was very focused and took all the notes tow operators gave me. I want to say that this must be a growth but I didn’t say that in the video because I just don’t want to grow cocky and I don’t know if that’s what it is. This is another tough challenge with this sport, to identify/differentiate the confidence that rooted from mental growth from just growing arrogant… mental state is a flowy thing and changing all the time. It is difficult to gain the self-awareness when you are in that moment. Sorry, I get so philosophical sometimes🤓😆 I just felt very different this time. I gotta keep eye on myself, though.
