This one's for you ‪@4dv33‬ I am taking level suggestions, even if they are repeat runs Once upon a time, there was an ULTRAKILL player who made daily runs of the goofy game, and they had an idea for a thumbnail they were in love with. But as they wished for a P2 run, the monkey's paw curled, and out came the upside down run of P2. Real talk though, this level was pretty enjoyable for the most part, but in the places it wasn't enjoyable, it was really miserable. Some enemies like the sentries and ferrymen tend to get stuck inside of walls, and this was severely exasperated by me being upside down for most of the time. Then, most ceilings wouldn't preserve high jumps, and some wouldn't even let you jump at all. Most of this wasn't too terrible, except against Sisyphus. Let me tell you a tale about Sisyphus. Sisyphus is very aggressive, and will teleport to the player to hit them. This isn't much of a problem, usually it punishes sloppy movement, and encourages the player to be conscious of when they're grounded, or up in the air, and react accordingly. In other words, you're expected to slide around most times, and jump away when you need to avoid specific attacks. When you are on the ceiling, Sisyphus will attempt to teleport to you, and hit you. At first, this seems like a good thing. He will very often get stuck in the ceiling, and become completely helpless until his second phase, where he will unstick himself and be able to teleport mid-air. However, when standing on the ceiling, he will also just as often get stuck outside of the map, where he can damage you, but you cannot consistently damage him. Because the ceiling is bugged while upside down, you can't chain high jumps, as your jump strength will not persist between jumps. This leaves you with rockets, impact hammer hits, or explosions to reach the top, and fight him from what your perspective appears to be the ceiling. He can be fought with some amount of consistency while up there. Saws do a lot of damage very easily, and being up there will force him to walk into them very frequently. But being up there with rockets is risky, since he can teleport on to you, and blow them up, damaging you. Impact hammer hits can be inconsistent, and explosions just hurt you. This means you can grapple him with good aim and timing to avoid falling, and getting combo-d to death. However, grappling him builds hard damage, which will kill you overtime. The only way to avoid this is through your style meter, meaning you have to maintain a high style, enough to reach an ULTRAKILL every so often, allowing you to actually heal. Fortunately, two weapons in your arsenal excel at this. The red nailgun will pop with saws or enough time, greatly boosting your style meter, and the other saws will hit quickly for a good chunk of style. The green railcannon also consistently keeps your style meter up, essentially pausing it from decreasing. Pair this with a few well timed parries, and you'll have enough health to kill him. Unfortunately, this also means that missing a railcannon, or failing to pop a conduction is very punishing, and very often ends a run. And hitting Sisyphus while upside down, while he's fast, while avoiding him, while trying to stay close to the ceiling, without a crosshair, makes it very easy to miss if your timing is off. Is it impossible? No, clearly not. Is it hard? Yes. Though most of the challenge comes from getting into a good rythm with saws, screwdrivers, and whatever else you can squeeze in between the two, because falling out of it will most definitely kill you. And if you try to fight him on the ceiling, then he'll glitch outside of the map and crush you from out of bounds. What should I do for day 300? I'm open to ideas.
