China's standards body has a project in drafting right now: "Compatibility Test Specifications of Battery Swap for Electric Vehicle and Swappable Battery System" (Plan No. 20262331-T-339), started April 28, 2026. It's being developed by a consortium that includes CATL, China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), and BAIC Foton.
