Gorpley Clough in Todmorden is one of my favourite go to to walks .
Situations on just off the A681, Bacup Road where there is a very small car park at the bottom of the Clough.
It's a circular walk , first following the river up stream crossing several wooden "kissing" bridges
were it's my tradition if walking with a loved one you must kiss on every bridge .
Not too far into the walk you will come to the first waterfall, which I've just learnt from Google Maps is called Walker's Waterfall. The second waterfall is only a 100 metres further upstream.
It can be muddy so preferably wellies is the best footwear.
Eventually you'll reach the end on the valley were you climb up some stairs to reach the top of the valley and close to the reservoir. The path continues back to the car park along the top of the valley below . There may still be a sign saying the path is CLOSED waiting repair but it is easily passable .
The views above the valley are wonderful especially were there's a park bench near to the end of the walk were it captures the views of two valleys .
A lovely place to have your sandwiches and coffee.
The path continues at the same level for a short while before starting it's decent down to the car park.
Don't forget to take your camera and your kissing lips if your lucky to be with a loved one. ❤️😘
