Psalm 121 Christian Soldiers

Psalm 121 + A Slightly altered Onward Christian Soldiers [Verse 1-Chant] I raise my eyes toward the mountains From where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord Almighty The maker of heaven and earth [Verse 2-Chant] He will not let your foot slip Your protector will never slumber Behold, the Protector of Israel Does not slumber or sleep [Verse 3-Chant] The Lord guards you; The Lord is a shelter right by your side The sun will not smite you by day Or the moon by night. [Verse 4-Chant] The Lord WILL shield you from all harm; HE will protect your life. The Lord protects your coming and going both now and forever Amen. [Chorus] Forward, Christian soldiers! Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus Going on before. Christ, the royal Master, Leads against the foe; Forward into battle, See, His banners go! [Verse 5] Rise up, faithful travelers, Step into the dawn, Carry high the banner Of the Lamb who's gone Down into the shadows, Rising with the day; Lift your eyes, believers, Climb the shining way! [Verse 6] Wonder fills our spirits When the praises start; Sing out, friends and neighbors, With a grateful heart! Like a house of kindred Gathered by the Lord, We walk on together, Faithful to His word. [Verse 7] Many hands, one body, Many, yet we're one; One in hope and spirit, Till our race is run. Empires turn to ashes, Crowns will rust and fall; But the house of Jesus Stands above them all. [Verse 8] Nothing that surrounds us Shakes what God has made; Every promise Jesus gave Will never fade. Come, then, every stranger, Join the circle wide; Let your voice be braided With ours side by side. [Outro] Glory to the Savior, Honor to the King; Heaven and earth together Gladly sing.
